Introduction:\
\
Thank you for downloading this set of LR2 levels. This pack should consist of seven levels in total. The first five, numbered levels are the core problem levels. These should ideally be solved in sequence. The remaining levels include a short credits level and a 'Clues' level. These level will give you some strategies and hints for solving the puzzle levels. The levels in sequence:\
\
1. Sea Scourge: A Study in Speed\
2. Synchrotron: A Study in Synchronisation\
3. The Dreaming Spires: A Study in Secrets\
4. Foothold: A Study in Structure\
5. Heaven's Gate A Study in Symmetry\
\
A. Credits\
B. Clues\
\
Each level has been tested thoroughly to ensure that it and all of the secrets and challenges in them are fully completable. Every level in this set can be completed, unlike my previous set. This level was created for the new concept of the 'LR2 Level Exchange'. If you play a level you like, write a quick level and send it back to the author and the wider LR2 community!\
\
Instructions:\
\
These levels are made in a very unique style. Each level is created on a single, locked screen with a black background. In order to finish the majority of the levels in this set, you must collect all of the gold and then climb one of the ladders that ascends off screen, much like the original Lode Runner. There are some exceptions.\
\
Story:\
\
Whilst collecting yet more gold from the Lode Runner monks, your loder (Jake/Jane) opened an unstable exit wormhole. This wormhole collapsed as soon as they entered, throwing your loder into a strange parallel world and the situation in 'Sea Scourge'. The first thing they noticed was that the sky was pitch black. The second was the black monks on their tail, and the extra gold scattered within easy reach. Would they survive? Would they ever get home? More importantly, was there anything of value in this place? All this will hopefully be answered as you play through the Midnight Suite.\
\
Style:\
\
These levels were created out of curiosity. I wanted to see how quickly it was possible to create a fully playable, enjoyable LR2 level with no initial inspiration. The test was a real success, and the times to create each level, from scratch, I posted below for interest. The levels were created in order, and each level becomes slightly more complex:\
\
1. 2 Minutes\
2. 6 Minutes\
3. 15 Minutes\
4. 4 Hours\
5. 6 Hours\
\
A. 10 Minutes\
B. 12 Minutes\
\
The level style set up in Sea Scourge I found to be quick, easy and very effective. It allowed the following levels simply to grow with little initial planning. Please feel free to borrow this style if you would like. As a challenge, see how quickly you can make a LR2 level! You may be surprised to find that it is quicker than you think!\
\
Challenge:\
\
This is a little extra for those who find this style of puzzle level reasonably simple. There are two exit ladders on the third level, 'The Dreaming Spires'. Each holds an extra life at its top. One is much easier to ascend than the other. However, there is another secret hidden in this level that will allow you to ascend both and to gain both extra lives. See whether you can find it!\
\
Hints:\
\
These are difficult levels. Some cryptic hints are found in the level, 'B. Clues'. However, if you are still stuck, please read the file 'More Clues'. This file will help you with the major puzzles. Only consult this if you are having real problems. It may spoil your experience of the puzzle levels! \
\
Distribution:\
\
Please feel free to distribute these levels in any way you wish, provided that all seven levels and the files 'ReadMe' and 'More Clues' are included in the final package.\
\
Credits:\
\
Many thanks to the following people, who helped keep me motivated to get this project completed:\
\
Anthony Kozar - This level set was inspired entirely by Anthony's two level sets 'Anthony Kozar' and 'ForLiz'. These are also sets of particularly impressive and taxing puzzle levels, and I would highly recommend them. This level set is dedicated by consequence to Anthony.\
\
Jason Summers - Jason's superb website is an excellent archive of all things Lode Runner. It unfortunately is no longer being updated, but it still contains a lot of useful information about the entire sires, and especially about LR2. You can find my previous level set on this site, as well as several interesting Easter Eggs and additional levels created by Presage

\
Robert Lachapelle - Robert dedicated a puzzle level to me a while ago called 'Alpha'. This was a great complement, and I never got the chance to thank him publicly. You can download this level from Jason's Lode Runner Archive at the address above.\
\
Other Work:\
\
If you liked this level set, please feel free to download my other released set, 'Hugo's LR2 Levels' from the Lode Runner Archive. These comprise very difficult levels, much more so than this set. \
\
I have several upcoming sets planned. One is an interesting level set in Mona World that showcases an interesting loophole that I discovered in the Mac LR2 Level Editor. The second is another vast level called 'Four' set in the World Hub, a level that really stretches possible level file sizes, and pushes the use of Triggers to the limit.\
