"Best of TNT" - levels for Lode Runner On-Line

The Canon

This is the first bunch of levels I made with TLR. It uses the first
level, the Shrine, as a launching point to any of the other ten. Each of
the six major tools is showcased in one level, and then there are four
others with various intriguing themes. I'm not sure why I named it The
Canon... I guess the idea was that it represented the game's capacity for
trickiness roundly, although I now see that isn't true. They're still
pretty good levels, although the pick-axe one (#6) may not work correctly
in MMR. The central trick from the final level is one I used in a
signature level from the old Broderbund version. All ten are quite
difficult, the later ones more than the earlier ones.

The Odyssey

I felt like I wanted to make a story of out Lode Runner, so I drew upon a
setting I'd been musing about for other reasons and designed a bunch of
levels to take the player through it. I'm not sure how immersive it would
be for someone not familiar with the story. Hopefully the continuity of
the setting and items adds something. The odyssey.txt file summarizes the
plot involves. The difficulty varies greatly.

The Sequence

Lode Runner: The Legend Returns contained thirty-two elements. One, the
Mad Monk gate, is invisible, and since all my levels are single player, Wes
Reckless wasn't used. So that left thirty elements in the game. I
endeavored to create a set of levels which introduced the elements one by
one, in which each level contained all the previous elements in some
measure as well as one new one. Each of the ten worlds appears for three
levels in The Sequence. The first few levels are elementary and
interesting for new players, but around level 13 they start getting tricky,
and by level 18 they'll challenge the best takers.

The Alphabet

Based on a system of twenty-six planets my sister and I used in
make-believe games in our childhood, this file makes full use of MMR and
offers a wide variety of tricky ideas. No level is straightforward, though
they get generally more difficult as they progress. Each of the twelve
worlds occurs twice, with the reef and crystal settings appearing thrice
each. There are three secret warps in the file that can take you past
three levels if you find them. Honus, being the capital planet, is
especially evil. All difficult, though not quite so much as the upper
levels of the Sequence.

Hints for any of these files are available on request.
