Description

NCSX The legendary Lode Runner rolls once again with a 3-D update. Run across isometrically viewed playfields and dump pursuers by creating holes in your wake. Collect all the "lode" scattered across the screen to progress to new levels. Although blasting open holes are your salvation, they will eventually fill up again and trapped pursuers who fall into the holes provide a walking "plank" for their fellows to walk over.
A hefty 60 stages are included in the game with the difficulty level progressively becoming steeper as you blow through the first couple of easy ones. Later levels require a bit of thinking in order to collect the lode - for example, there's buried treasure in some levels and one must think about blasting holes properly so that you'll get the gold as well as provide yourself with an escape route.

Once you've conquered all 60 levels, an Edit Mode allows the creations of new and crafty levels for your own pleasure or to share with friends who come over to test their best.

Official Hudson News Release
Cubic Lode Runner is the 3D debut of Hudsons first-ever NES title, the hole-digging "Lode Runner." Guide your runner to all the gold nuggets as you dodge the robots blocking your way in this exciting puzzle game. To get to the gold, youll have to make the most of your digging, and maybe even drop a robot or two in the holes you make!

In addition to the Normal Stages (60 levels), which feature a variety of 3D tricks and contraptions, the new Cubic Lode Runner comes with an Edit Mode for creating your own. The game features Time Challenge and Fruit Challenge modes as well as the classic puzzle-solving mode. In Fruit Challenge, you must meet certain conditions to reveal hidden fruits, which yield extra points. The game also comes packed with a number of bonus commercial shorts and game sounds from the NES era.
