Lode Runner DS details/screens
Hudson has released a few bits of information concerning the DS remake of Lode Runner. The game will use the top screen for a map of the entire play area, and the bottom for main gameplay. There will be a few new modes included in the game, but the best news is that the classic NES version will be included! There is no info on a US release as of right now, but you can head over to the Japanese site to get your Lode Runner DS fix. You can find more screens like the one below at that site.

Lode Runner Returns on the DS
Hudson revives its classic NES title.
by IGN Staff
August 10, 2006 - Hudson is reviving an NES classic for the DS, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals. The company will be bringing Lode Runner to the system, with new modes of play and updated visuals, for Japanese release in October.

Currently, we don't have much in the way of solid details. The game will reportedly include different Lode Runner games, including Championship Lode Runner. Hudson is also adding a new puzzle mode which does away with enemies and a time limit.

Based on the screenshots we've seen, the DS's top screen is used to show a full view of the level, with all the action taking place on the bottom screen; it's unknown if you'll be able to use the stylus for controls. Visually, some modes look like the original game, while others have been updated to DS level.

Now that Lode Runner has been announced, we eagerly wait an announcement of Bonk DS!
