The return of a classic!

A tribute to one of the most beloved classics of 80s era personal computers.

Gold Runner is one of the original platform games. This remake offer 33 levels of nostalgia, gathering gold bricks while avoiding the guards that are chasing you, digging holes to escape from them and trap them so you can steal the gold theyre holding.

Gold Runner has 4 different displays, with different sized buttons to suit your preference. It also offers a flick control scheme where you simply flick the screen in the direction you want your character to move.

If the standard vertical display is too small for you, Gold Runner has a horizontal display with a magnified game board.

Score one for the good old days!

Infusions of Grandeur Releases Gold Runner, $0.99

Lode Runner-styled gameplay has been attempted on the iPhone before (with mixed results), but developer Infusions of Grandeur aims to fully duplicate the original Apple II edition of the game with this weeks release of Gold Runner ($0.99). From gameplay to graphics, Gold Runner simulates the twitchy, slightly too-fast thrill of the original Lode Runner title released in 1983.

As you can see from the screenshot to the left, Infusions of Grandeur has tried to account for the iPhones input deficiencies by making the control buttons especially large, at the expense of screen size. If this doesnt work for you, though, a horizontal screen mode is also available. Players can also resize the buttons on the on-screen control pad, and can choose to use an alternate flick-based control scheme, if the d-pad is inadequate.

Gold Runner features 33 levels and high score tracking. More screenshots can be found at Infusions of Grandeurs website.
